Ingredients
- one sweet red pepper, cut into 1/2" squares
- one onion; cut into 1/2" squares
- one package of fresh basil, wash and pick off leaves from stalk
- 1/2 lb of bean sprouts; wash and drain
- one package of fried tofu (this may be hard to get outside of Chinatown—if you can’t get it, substitute with extra firm tofu)
- a few slices of ginger
Sauce
- 2 tbsp soy
- 1 tbsp Chinese vinegar
- 1.5 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp wine
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp corn starch
- a few pinches of white pepper
Instructions
- heat 3 tbsp oil, add slices of ginger, stir fry onion until lightly brown
- add red pepper, stir fry for one min
- add tofu and stir fry for a couple more minutes
- add well stirred sauce, stir content until the sauce starts to thicken
- add bean sprouts, stir for a minute, then add basil and cook for one more minute
