Note that this recipe requires you to marinade the beef for at least 30 minutes ahead of time.
You can also add pretty much any vegetable to this dish, including peppers, broccoli, or cabbage.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lb flank steak
- 4 large onions (recommend red onions)
- 10-15 slices ginger
Marinade
- 1 tbs soy sauce
- 1 tbs wine
- 1 tsp corn starch
- 1 tbs olive oil
- A sprinkle of baking soda
Sauce
- 3 heaping tbs oyster sauce
- 3 tbs water
- 1 tbs sesame oil
- 1 tbs sugar
- 1 tsp corn starch
- 15-20 turns of black pepper grinder
Instructions
- Add marinade ingredients to beef and let sit in fridge at least 30 mins
- Heat some oil in a pan
- Add beef and stir fry until slightly browned (do cook fully)
- Remove beef from heat and set aside
- Drain some of remaining oil, leaving enough for onions (if not enough, add some more oil)
- Add ginger and onions and stir fry a couple minutes
- Add beef back
- Add sauce. Put a bit of water in the bowl and mix in
- Cook 1-2 mins until beef is cooked medium rare
